I ride on the icy Dempster with the trucks of Robinson Entreprises...

and i loved it!

This is at the "corner" mile 0 of the Dempster Highway on Sunday night when i arrive from Whitehorse and before i install my studded tires.
he went directly to Inuvik, download the diesel he transport and comes back at the edge of the blizzard just before the Dempster closed between Eagle Plains and Fort McFerson.
There were already a high accumulation of drifted snow, he tried to pass it and just get lifted loosing grip on his rear traction wheels. He had to be pulled by an other Truck to get out of there. He went back to Whithorse, reload his charge of Diesel and arrived at Eagle Plains Thursday PM... he was hold only for the night and was one of the first truck to leave friday morning when the Dempster reopened. i left not far behind them, but i get on them when they were stopped on a hill putting the chains on the traction wheels.... I passed them on the side and further down the road, they passed me again after they removed their chains. I say "they" because at Robinson Enterprises, a truck is never on the ice alone, it is always a convoy of 2 or 3 trucks. it required more organization and management, but it works. because of that, they made one more round trip from Whitehorse to Inuvik than if they were running alone.
